The staff was very very helpful, rooms were beautiful, unique place to stay. It had nice location really close to the nature in a very luxury glamping style as well as Lake Atitlan.

    No complaints.

    very nice views
    lack of privacy
    disruptive noise

Very nice views from the room and a unique outdoor shower.

I didn't appreciate the lack of bathroom privacy. It was rather uncomfortable. There were also enormous spiders in my room. Plus, the nearby roosters crowing early in the morning were disruptive to my sleep.

    amazing, amazing, amazing

I can't stop raving about this place! The open air rooms provided amazing views of the lake and volcanoes. Every meal was a delight, especially the delicious dinners prepared by the owner, Johan. We felt so welcomed by Gaby and Johan, were great to.

    totally recommend 😊❤️

    really good hospitality
    limited village amenities
    short walk from harbor
    quiet location

The fine views from the room and during breakfast. The hospitality from the hosts was really good. The unique offerings at dinner, especially the smoked salmon, showcased very nice culinary skills. Even though the area is quiet, nearby shops and the ability to walk to a livelier village made it easy to enjoy the surroundings.

    outdoor shower
    noisy mornings

The location offers fine views that can't be beaten, especially from the balcony. The outdoor shower is a unique touch.

Be ready for an early morning chorus of loud roosters if you're a light sleeper. Ear plugs are advisable. Spider encounters can be a hassle. My room had its share of enormous spiders, while the scorpion hiding in my clothes was a bit too close for comfort. The hotel is somewhat isolated with a 15-minute walk or a short, paid lấy from the dock, which isn't ideal for everyone. The hotel is built on a hillside, so expect quite a few steps to navigate around.

Couple looking for a unique experience

We enjoyed fantastic dinners with the owners Johan and Gaby, it seemed like we were having a meal with family. The views from our room were amazing, waking up to volcano Fuego erupting in the distance was lovely.

It wasn't inexpensive but still reasonable given the experience.

    intimate setting

lovely glamping experience with amazing views and the perfect outdoor movie night under the stars

El Picnic Atitlan is a hidden gem with fine views that took my breath away. Gaby and Jochen are warm hosts. I loved waking up to the gentle sounds of nature and enjoying unique breakfasts overlooking the lake. The intimate setting, with only a few accommodations, allowed for special conversations and memories with fellow guests. The food was good, especially the homemade dinners. I can't wait to return!
